Carousel Horse / Pony Ca. 1900 Hand Carved – Original finish preserved, glass eyes, horse hair tail. Carved from wood blocks glued together. Hollow center. Used on a Carousel ride or more commonly known as a merry-go-round from 1890’s to 1940’s. Possibly carved in the Philadelphia or New York area. By the likes of Charles Looff, Timothy and Bartholomew Murry, D.C. Muller & Bro., E. Joy Morris, Charles Carmel, Stein and Goldstein, Charles Dare, M.C. Illions, Gustav Dentzel, Charles W. Parker, Charles Leupold, Armitage Herschell or one of their protege’s.
